Vice President- Carolyn Stacey was a volunteer for the shelter since near the beginning until she found it necessary to leave to take care of her elderly mother. She later returned to volunteering and joined the board in 2015. Carolyn has 6 grown children, 13 grandchildren and 6 greats all of whom she loves to spend time with. Carolyn is also now raising her adopted teen-aged grandson. Carolyn has a great love for the women and the ministry of the shelter and we are so thankful for her compassionate leadership. Board President- Charles Pratt is a retired State of Maine Highway Supervisor and joined our board in 2017. Charlie has been married to his wife, Lori, for 37 years. They have 2 grown children and one grandson, Gary, that he is so proud of! Charlie was involved with the construction of the new building both through his involvement on the building committee, and also through many hours of hands-on labor. Pat Hunt has been a board member since the beginning of 2019. Pat has much wisdom from all of her years working in women's ministries and teaching school. Pat was married for nearly 49 years to Pastor Tim Hunt who was the New Hope Church pastor for 14 years until his homegoing in 2019. Together they raised 3 sons and were blessed with 9 grandchildren. We are so grateful for the experience and wisdom she brings to the shelter board. Pat keeps very busy with her music, her grandchildren, as well as her german shepherd and her horse, Dirigo. Pat is now an active member of Church of the Open Bible in Athens.

Debbie Hibbard is the newest member of the board having joined us in the spring of 2020. Debbie and her husband Chet owned and operated a local pharmacy for 25 years until their retirement. Debbie and Chet raised two daughters and have one grandson, Dylan, who is a special joy in her life.. Debbie brings many years of experience teaching Bible Studies to women as well as working in many capacities with children in Good News Clubs in the local school.

Rob Philpot joined the shelter board in 2017 as an elder of the New Hope Church. Rob is a retired paper-maker who loves cooking, woodworking, and spending time with friends and family. He has found that retirement is turning out to be a busier time than during all the years of employment! Mary Andrews has been involved with the shelter ministry in one capacity or another since 2011. She was a volunteer, cook, kitchen manager, and board member over the years. Mary brings much insight and experience working with our women and we are blessed to have her back as a board member. Mary was married for nearly 56 years until the Lord called her beloved husband, Odber, home in 2019. Together they raised 4 children (one of whom is in heaven) and were blessed with 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grands. Blaine Bacon has been pastoring the New Hope Church since 2021 under which the shelter operates as a self-supporting ministry. Blaine and his wife, Sandy, have 5 grown children and also have a teenage daughter at home. Blaine is a bi-vocational pastor and works as a Paramedic Chaplain for Delta Ambulance at his other job. He has worked in the field for 28 years and hosts a Facebook page called "Mr. Bacon's Neighborhood" that brings encouragement to other first responders. As the newest member of the board, Blaine brings fresh insight and ideas to the board. When not working he enjoys spending most of his time with his wife, children and 4 (soon to be 5) grandchildren!
